Clamshell lighting - flawless beauty lighting Tutorial
I recently found this is a great video that offers an easy and affordable way to take great portraits with just two strobes/speedlights and a two umbrellas. I use a similar approach with one strobe and a reflector on headshots, but I will be giving this a try especially for flattering shots on location. I like this approach because everything is compact and can be set up/broken down quickly.

Studio lighting Portrait Photography Tutorial
This is a great video on using a large softbox. In the video the instructor demonstrates several lighting techniques as well as a trick for metering the balanced output of the light to avoid a "hotspot." I actually use this metering approach to ensure that I don't run into dramatically un-even light in my images.

Why I Chose Senior Photos

- I love fashion and editorial photography and constantly shoot with the vision that one day I'll see my work in a magazine.
- I possess the resources and skills to shoot in just about any situation.
- Everyone wants to look cool in their images and I have always found a way to make that happen.
So that said, Senior photos just feels like the right place to be. After all, high school seniors want something to showcase their accomplishments while also being the talk of the school when the pictures circulate.
When I first decided to make the shift to senior photos, I was a bit apprehensive. I wondered if I possessed the creativity to help capture the vision of an 18-year-old with my camera. If this shot is any indication of my potential as a senior photographer, I think I may have underestimated myself.
I'm looking forward to seeking new challenges in working with clients that either have a crystal clear vision for what they want or no clear way to articulate what they want. In the end, I know I have to make them look cooler than they ever have before in an image and that's something I am certain I can do.
